Privacy at Torania

1. Who this notice covers

This notice describes how Torania handles information through the Torania Parent app, the parent portal, Torania game services, and the public Torania website. A parent or guardian owns and manages the family account.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to create and operate a Torania family account, link Explorer profiles, show progress, provide support, secure the service, and communicate choices made by the parent.

• Parent account information, including name, email address, date of birth, account identifier, and a securely hashed password.
• Explorer information entered or managed by the parent, including nickname, avatar, linked devices, discoveries, and sanctuary progress.
• Parent notification preferences and account or device-linking activity.
• Feedback and support information that a parent chooses to send.
• Limited technical records needed for security, reliability, and first-party service operation, such as request timestamps, browser or device information, and server logs.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate parents, provide family features, synchronize and display Explorer progress, link trusted devices, send parent-selected service messages, respond to support, prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability and security of Torania.

Torania does not sell personal information, use family information for third-party advertising, or track people across apps and websites owned by other companies.

4. Service providers and disclosure

We may use service providers for database hosting, application hosting, email delivery, security, and customer support. They may process information only to provide those services to Torania and are expected to protect it consistently with this notice and applicable law.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the safety and integrity of the service, or as part of a business transaction where appropriate privacy protections continue to apply.

5. Children and family accounts

Torania is designed for children, but parent account ownership, consent, account setup, and device linking remain with a parent or guardian. The child-facing experience is designed to avoid asking children for direct contact information or exposing parent account credentials.

Parents should use a non-identifying nickname for an Explorer and should not place sensitive personal information in nickname or feedback fields.

Playing together in private groups

When you join a private group, other members see your Explorer nickname, chosen appearance, and movements in the game. Share invite codes only with people you know. Groups expire after four hours, and you can leave at any time through Play together. Your account email, sign-in details, and saved personal discoveries are not shared with group members. The service relays current movement to connected members and does not create a saved movement history.

6. Retention and account deletion

We retain account and Explorer information while the family account remains active and for only as long as needed to provide and secure the service or meet legal obligations.

A signed-in parent can open Settings in Torania Parent and choose Delete account and family data. After password confirmation, this deletes the parent account and associated Explorer profiles, device links, discoveries, progress, sessions, and related active records. Information that must be retained for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes may be kept only for the required period.

A parent may also contact Torania to ask about access, correction, consent, or deletion. We may verify account ownership before completing a privacy request.

7. Security and international processing

Torania uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted transport and server-side database access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the family’s country. Where required, Torania uses appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this notice as Torania changes. The date above identifies the current version. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to info@torania.net.
